A Word From The Founder – Ruth Kato

Re-formations start when one man/woman gets a clear glimpse of why God took a hold of them and reach out in faith to achieve all they were created to fulfil as their destiny.

For me, it was clear from my teenage years that God had called me to mother nations by being his hands and feet in this hurting world. I wish to put to use the experience gained from serving humanity as President of the Rotary Club of Entebbe (RY 2010/11), Programmes Director at SOS Children’s Village Entebbe (2003 – 2013) and managing the EU-funded National Authorising Office at the Ministry of Finance, Planning & Economic Development, to do something about the dire situations millions of people find themselves in.

Having lost my own mother as a teenage girl in Uganda, I was immediately propelled into the position of “mother” to my siblings since I was the oldest girl in the family.  I have known, first hand, what it means to experience the grace of God in my life and in the lives of my siblings. I believe that to whom much is given, much is expected.

God has been so faithful to my family, who lost our father a few years later and experienced God as both our father and mother.

Each time I see a vulnerable child or elderly person, I think of how that could have been me or someone I know. The favor of God has encamped around me all my days and I founded Good Shed Foundation International to share of what God has done in my life with those in need. I am mindful that I cannot do this alone, hence my setting up the Good Shed Foundation to enable me partner with like-minded people who wish to be a blessing to others because they have been blessed.

As creation groans for the manifestation of the true sons of God, I believe that I am of the breed called the True Sons of God. The kind who will not look away when there is a soul in need. This kind live the God-life and are eager to share it with millions all over the world, transforming one life at a time.

Like a lamp on a hill, Good Shed Foundation (GSF) cannot be hid. I am convinced that, “…if it had not been for the Lord who was always on my side, the enemy would have swallowed us. My soul has found an escape, the fowler’s snare has been broken in my life (Psalm 124:7) and it is my father’s will that it be broken in every one’ life.. I have learnt to believe in people and be the hand that clothes the naked, feeds the hungry and provides shelter to the homeless.

Good Shed Foundation is set on the principles of accountability and excellence in all we do.
